Kaplan’s Woods Park – OPEN: 1/22 Trail update.
So this weekend made me laugh and cry. The trail was soft for most of the weekend. We had at least five riders who had way too much air pressure while riding. Two other riders went the wrong direction walking up the trail on almost all the down hills.
So here’s a rule of thumb when winter fat biking.
If you are spinning out going up small to medium hills you need to let air out of your fear tire.
If your front tire is sliding out you need to let air out of the front.
When the snow is soft your tire should squat not quite half way to the rim.
This will give you a much better riding experience. Slow and steady.
By the middle of the week the trails should firm up enough for firmer tire pressure.
I groomed tonight to make the trail rideable on Monday.
Tuck and roll. OTA.
